Randy Spivey / CEO, President & Founder

 

Randy Spivey is a sought after speaker and is recognized as a leading expert in the area of training individuals to prevent and survive Extreme Violence.  Since forming CPPS, Randy and his organization have trained over 10 million individuals in Best Practices related to Workplace Violence Prevention, Active Shooter Response, Travel Safety and Security, and Kidnap Survival.

More About Randy

Prior to forming CPPS, Randy enjoyed a tenure as a Department of Defense executive. Randy managed and provided oversight to all Hostage Survival training programs in the Department of Defense from 1997 to 2002 and co-authored multiple hostage-related policy and doctrine documents.

 

Randy has worked directly with many national-level media organizations to include: ABC World News Tonight, CNN, Fox News Live, MSNBC, Associated Press, History Channel, USA Today, and the New York Times.

 

Randy has a Bachelor of Science Degree in International Relations from the United States Air Force Academy, Colorado and a Master of Science Degree in Counseling and Human Resource Development from South Dakota State University.

Dave Benson / Senior Advisor, Global Operations and Threat Mitigation

 

Dave Benson is an accomplished security professional with over 40 years of Public and Private Sector expertise in the areas of Security Management, Protective Operations, Contingency Planning and Vulnerability/Risk Assessment & Mitigation. As the CPPS Senior Advisor, Global Operations and Threat Mitigation, Dave provides high-level consulting and training to CPPS clients in the areas of Travel Safety, Workplace Violence Prevention and Threat Assessment and Mitigation. Dave coordinates the CPPS’ Threat Management Advisory Team retainer program…providing CPPS clients with real-time advice for assessing and mitigating potential threats.

Dave had a distinguished career with the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security (DS) as a Senior Special Agent. Prior to his government service, Dave served in various management positions for Walt Disney World Security, in Orlando, Florida.

 

In his last position with the Department of State, Dave served as Director of the Diplomatic Security Training Center in Washington DC where he was responsible for the all Security, Engineering, and Law Enforcement training within the Bureau.

 

In addition to several other professional organizations, Dave is a member in good standing of The Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), currently serving as the Vice President of the Florida ATAP Chapter.

Roger Aldrich / Senior Advisor, Training and Education

 

Roger Aldrich is a well-known expert in travel safety and crisis survival. He served for 33 years with the Department of Defense in the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency (JPRA) as an instructor, instructor trainer, curriculum developer, and director of the U.S. Government’s only specialized, foreign governmental detention and hostage survival program.

More About Roger

Roger was responsible for the successful training of over 60,000 military and civilian personnel during his unique career. His last position was serving as the Dean of the Personnel Recovery Academy, JPRA’s premier venue for DoD’s highest risk personnel to learn to survive terrorist and peacetime foreign governmental detention.

 

Roger conducted debriefings and interviews of several individuals who returned from captivity, ranging from Vietnam POWs to the Navy EP-3 crew, held by the Peoples Republic of China. He also debriefed hostage victims, Gracia Burnham, held by the Abu Sayef in the Philippines, and Roy Hallums, held by terrorists in Iraq.

 

Roger created, developed, and managed specialized, tailored captivity survival programs for the highest risk operational personnel in the State Department, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Department of Homeland Security, and other governmental agencies.

Margi Strub / Chief Learning Officer

 

Margi Strub is responsible for promoting a culture for organizational learning; conducting needs analysis; managing the capture, sharing, and retention of knowledge-content activities; leveraging corporate-wide knowledge and expertise; conducting strategic planning; and uncovering best practices and benchmarking. She oversees the development of a comprehensive training curriculum focused on cutting edge training techniques.

Drew Jenkins / Director of Operations

 

Drew Jenkins is currently the Director of Operations for CPPS since joining the company in May 2016. Drew comes to CPPS with a wealth of more than 30 years of international relations experience. He has lived, worked, and traveled to over 60 countries spanning North America, Latin America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East while working for the U.S. Government as both a military officer and diplomat. Drew also has extensive experience working in higher education, political/military/security policy development, and global intelligence.

Drew has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Colorado and a Master of Arts degree in International Relations and Business from San Diego State University. Drew is fluent in Spanish and Greek languages and is a Disabled Veteran having served with honor and distinction in three armed conflicts while in the US Army.

Josh Spivey / Director of Finance

 

Joshua Spivey is the Director of Finance for the Center for Personal Protection and Safety (CPPS). Joshua joined CPPS in 2010 and has served a variety of roles to include marketing, accounting, and instructional assistance.

In his role of Director of Finance, Joshua manages the day-to-day financial management functions for CPPS…regularly interfacing with many of the largest corporations in the world.

 

In addition to his role as Director of Finance, Josh supports CPPS clients with developing customized solutions for their Workplace Violence Prevention and Travel Safety Programs.

 

Josh is a graduate of the Business Associates Program from Spokane Falls Community College and is actively pursuing an advanced degree in Business Administration.

Jake Newton / Director of Business Development

 

Jake Newton is the Director of Business Development for the Center for Personal Protection and Safety where he manages CPPS client relationships and is responsible for developing strategic partnerships. Jake also leverages his expertise as an instructor to provide training to CPPS clients.

More About Jake

Jake served honorably in the U.S. Air Force as a SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape) Specialist. During his tenure, he became a Senior Trainer where he instructed Combat Survival Training elements for high risk of isolation personnel and certified newly graduated SERE Specialists. Jake also taught and supervised emergency parachute training operations.

 

Jake continues his professional development by pursuing his Bachelors in Leadership and Management with Liberty University. Jake is also a graduate of the FBI National Citizens Academy Alumni Association through the Washington Field Office.

Dillon Fletcher / Director of Program Development

 

Dillon Fletcher is the Director of Program Development for the Center for Personal Protection and Safety. He works closely with our clientele to develop eLearning courses customized uniquely for each organization. He has developed over 50 uniquely customized courses for clients during his three years at CPPS, many of which are Fortune 500 companies.

Dr. Michael Corcoran / Senior Advisor, Threat Assessment and Management

 

Dr. Michael H. Corcoran, President, The Workthreat Group, was in the law enforcement field for over 34 years beginning in 1968 and the threat assessment field since 1970 when he entered the United States Secret Service.

More About Dr. Corcoran

Completing his doctorate in 1979 in Behavioral Science, and utilizing his law enforcement experience, he specializes in identifying and handling potentially violent subjects. He does threat assessments, determination of true potentials of violence and criminal profiling for governmental agencies, law enforcement, Fortune 500 companies, school districts and healthcare providers around the world.

 

Maintaining liaison with the intelligence community since 1970, Dr. Corcoran is able to obtain critical information and intelligence concerning terrorists and other “high-risk” developments, as well as travel safety details for both foreign and domestic locations.

 

He has spoken internationally on all these topics, co-authored the text: “Violence Assessment & Intervention, The Practitioners Guide” and has been “voir dired” as an expert witness on identifying violent individuals.

 

Lastly, Dr. Corcoran co-founded Henley-Putnam University and served as its first President from 2004-2011, the only online accredited school in the world granting Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Strategic Security & Protection Management, Intelligence Management and Terrorism/Counterterrorism Studies, as well as a Doctorate in Strategic Security.

Jerry E. McConnell / Senior Advisor, Ministry Outreach and Non-Profit Division

 

Reverend McConnell brings over 35 years of experience in pastoral ministry as a Youth Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Senior Pastor from 1975 to present. His background and experience includes the US Military from 1971-1974. He worked for the Pacific School District in Ilwaco, WA as a school teacher and coach, from 1974 -1975.

Rev. McConnell served as a Youth Pastor and Executive Pastor in Kirkland, WA from 1975-1986, and as a Senior Pastor in Gooding, ID, Baker City, OR and Spokane, WA from 1986 to 2007. He has held Interim Pastor Assignments from 2008 – present.

 

Extensive travels abroad include living two years in Central Europe and Missions’ Ministry travel to Mexico, Israel, Samoa, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Scotland, Ireland, England, France, Norway, Holland, and Canada.

 

A graduate of Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa, ID, Rev. McConnell completed his post-graduate work at Seattle Pacific University in Seattle, WA and was ordained in 1989. He graduated from the School of Large Church Management in Kansas City, MO. Currently, Rev. McConnell serves on the ASIS Houses of Worship Council.

Bob Johnson / SME, Senior Instructor

 

Mr. Johnson is currently the Director of Safety & Security for Christ’s Church of the Valley in Peoria, Arizona. He has over 30 years of law enforcement experience, retiring from the Phoenix Police Department after 23 years.

Mr. Johnson also served in the Arizona Army National Guard for 20 years. As a Command Sergeant Major, he was responsible for the leadership training of the State’s Officer and NCO candidates.

  • Director of Security for Domino’s Pizza’s second largest franchisee, responsible for 85 stores in Arizona
  • Mr. Johnson actively assists other churches as they identify, recruit, train and deploy their safety and security teams

Mark Bracich / Senior Advisor, Personnel Recovery

 

Recognized as a leading expert in the field of Personnel Recovery, Mark Bracich created the Department of Defense Personnel Recovery (PR) System model used throughout DoD and interagency/multinational partners to develop PR policy, doctrine, training, & lessons learned. Additionally, he drafted the key language used in the current National Security Presidential Directive for Personnel Recovery.
